How do I turn an iPad into a pickleball scoreboard?

Open a game in Pickle Call on an iPad and it becomes a full-screen courtside scoreboard: team names, large scores, the call, games won and who serves. You score from the iPad itself, one tap per rally, and the board is readable from the next court.

How it works

The scoreboard works in landscape and portrait, in light and dark, with the same rules as the iPhone app: side-out or rally scoring, singles or doubles, games to 11, 15 or 21 and matches of best of 1, 3 or 5. Tap the side that won the rally; undo takes it back. It is made for an iPad on a stand at the side of the court. The iPad scoreboard comes with Pickle Call Unlock.

When people use it

  • A club or event desk showing the score to players and spectators
  • Coaches running games and drills
  • A home court with an iPad on a stand

Questions

Can the iPad mirror a game scored on another device?
Not today. The iPad scores the game itself; the board updates with each tap on the iPad.
Does it work in portrait?
Yes, in landscape and portrait.
Is the scoreboard part of the unlock?
Yes. The iPad scoreboard comes with Pickle Call Unlock, a one-time purchase with no subscription.
