Can I keep pickleball score on my Apple Watch?

Yes. In the Pickle Call Watch app you tap the left or right half of the screen for the side that won the rally, and turn the Digital Crown to undo. A different tap pattern on your wrist tells you who serves next, so you can score without looking.

How it works

The Watch app scores on its own and keeps the game on screen during play, saving the score on every tap so it survives the screen going off or the app relaunching. Each kind of point has its own haptic pattern. On watches that support it, Double Tap scores for your side. A game started on the iPhone or the Watch shows live on the other, finished matches land in the iPhone history, and the live score can sit on your watch face. Nothing is saved to Health unless you turn on Save as workout. The Watch app comes with Pickle Call Unlock, with one game to try it first.

When people use it

  • Playing doubles and keeping score without stopping play
  • League matches where you want the score on your wrist
  • Checking who serves next with a glance or a tap pattern

Questions

Do I have to swipe to score?
No. One tap on the left or right half of the screen scores the rally. The Digital Crown undoes.
Does it save my game to Health?
Only if you turn on Save as workout in the Watch settings. Otherwise the app uses a workout session just to stay on screen and saves nothing to Health.
Can I try it before buying?
Yes. One game on Apple Watch is included; after that the Watch app comes with Pickle Call Unlock.
