Do pickleball games go to 11, 15 or 21?

Most pickleball games go to 11, won by 2; tournaments and events also play games to 15 or 21, still won by 2. Pickle Call scores all three, in matches of best of 1, 3 or 5, and tells you when to switch ends: at 6, 8 or 11 in a one-game match or deciding game.

How it works

Set the game length and match length when you start. Pickle Call tracks game point, match point and the winner of each game, decides who serves first in the next game (the side that received first in the last game, or your pick) and calls end changes between games and at the midpoint of a one-game match or deciding game. Timeouts are tracked too: 2 per team per game, 3 in games to 21. Games to 11 are included; games to 15 or 21, best of 3 or 5, and rally scoring come with Pickle Call Unlock.

When people use it

  • A recreational game to 11
  • A best-of-3 league or ladder match
  • Practising for an event played to 15 or 21

Questions

Do you have to win by 2 in pickleball?
Yes. A game to 11 can go to 12-10, 13-11 and beyond until one side leads by 2. Pickle Call keeps going until then.
When do you switch ends?
Between games, and in a one-game match or the deciding game when the first side reaches 6 (game to 11), 8 (to 15) or 11 (to 21). Pickle Call shows a banner at the right moment.
Can I cancel a game?
Yes. Any game can be cancelled from the game menu.
